چکیده
Background: Refractory ascites is one of the most important complications cirrhosis & albumin considered highly effective in controlling it. Objective: To compare efficacy 10g versus 20g improving refractory cirrhotic patients.
Methods: This randomized control trial was conducted at department Gastroenterology, Mayo hospital Lahore for 12 months. After ethical approval, 60 patients chronic liver disease with were included study divided into two groups. Group A administered whereas; group B given albumin. Both groups followed next 3 days by measuring change weight, abdominal girth and urine output. Data analyzed using SPSS v-21. Results: There no considerable difference between regarding significant response both reducing (p=0.6022). Conclusion: Low dose as full among patients.

Introduction Ascites is a common complication of chronic liver diseases and is related to the extent of portal hypertension. This study evaluated whether the serum ascites albumin gradient (SAAG) (the difference between the albumin level of serum and of ascitic fluid) is endowed with clinical implications. متن کاملAlbumin infusion in liver cirrhotic patients.
Albumin infusions have been used for many years in the management of patients with decompensated cirrhosis in an attempt to reduce the formation of ascites, to improve circulatory and renal function, or in SBP patients. While some of these indications for albumin infusions are supported by the results of randomised studies, others are based on clinical experience and have not been proved in pro...
متن کاملIntravenous albumin infusion is an effective therapy for hyponatraemia in cirrhotic patients with ascites.
The treatment of moderate to severe hyponatraemia in patients with decompensated liver disease is unsatisfactory. We report our preliminary experience using intravenous infusion of albumin to treat this condition. Three patients with cirrhosis, ascites, and hyponatraemia responded satisfactorily to treatment; one patient with fulminant hepatitis B did not respond. Intravenous albumin infusion i...
